The Richmond Yacht Club hosts its own annual regattas as well as several regional, national and often world Championships each year. RYC also hosts a significant portion of the local YRA calendar.
Club regattas include the following:
- The Big Daddy in the spring and the Great Pumpkin in the fall, both of which attract upwards of 150 boats each
- The Big Dinghy in the spring, Totally Dinghy in the fall, and RYC Small Boat Midwinters
- Beer can races held every Wednesday from April through September, except the second Wednesdays of April, May, June, and September.
