Big Daddy Regatta, 3/10&11/2012:

Sail a Small Boat Day 3/3/2012:
First time sailors were welcomed to the RYC to sail a variety of small boats and enjoy a free lunch.  Many thanks to MaryLou Clarke, Lyn Hines, Greg Pfeiffer and Erik Simonson for contributing pictures from this event.

Alameda YC Cruise Out 2/18/2012:
11 boats cruised to Fortman Marina under blue skies with light breezes to enjoy dinner and juke box dancing at the hospitable Alameda Yacht Club.

Small Boat Midwinters #3 on 2/4 & 5/2012:
Hundreds of boats participated in the RYC's third Small Boat Midwinters.  Pix taken by Greg Pfeiffer. 

Flamenco Night 2/4/2012:
Kathleen Dolan and Michael Farrell host another great night of professional flamenco dancing in a bistro setting where Chef Michael served tapas and paella.

Clean Up Trailer Day 1/29/2012:
13 volunteers showed to clean out and organize the club's storage container, which is used to store reusable decorations and equipment.  

Commodore's Cruise to the San Rafael YC 1/21/2012:
15 boats signed up to cruise to the SRYC and over 40 RYCers enjoyed the club's crab feed in spite of rain, low tides and 49er football. 

New Year's Eve 12/31/2011 "Midnight in Paris":
A "SOLD OUT" event that featured French cuisine and the music of the "Mixed Nuts" band.  Many of our guests dressed with a 1920's Parisian flair. 

Christmas Caroling Cruising 12/10/2011:
This year's caroling cruise was another hit. Cruise hosts, Brian & Cindy Deans, provided hors d'oeuvres at the club and Dan & Carol Seifers' boat, Caprice, served as the caroling platform. Lyle Ryan and RYC "band" accompanied the carolers during the cruise around Brickyard Cove.

Arts & Crafts Faire 12/09/2011:
Local artists and crafts people showed their wares to RYC members just in time for holiday shopping.

Turkey Trot to Benicia 11/25/2011:
23 RYC boats cruised to the Benicia on Nov. 25th.  On Friday we shopped and dined in Benicia.  On Sat. the Benicia Yacht Club held a special dinner for us that included live music and dancing.  This was the Vice Commodore's cruise hosted by Jon and Carol Sjoberg.   

Awards & New Members Reception 11/13/2011:

Great Pumpkin Regatta 10/29 &30/2011:
Over 260 boats signed up for a great weekend or racing and partying.

9/11 Boatlift:
Did you know that many work and pleasure boats volunteered to boatlift people who were stranded on Manhattan Island after the World Trade Center attack?  Tom Hanks narrates this video.  Click on -

Cruise Out to the Delta for July 4th:
14 boats cruised to the Sacramento Delta to enjoy 100 degree weather, a party at Fig Island, and fireworks over Mandeville Cut.

Lobster Night June 18th:
Club members including many of the racers from the club's Island Race Series enjoy a sold out lobster dinner.

Master Mariners Regatta May28th:
78 of the oldest wooden boats sailing in the San Francisco Bay Area race against each other.

Mother's Day Champagne Brunch May 8th:
Huge turnout of family and friends for a spectacular champagne brunch featuring omelets cooked to order and music by harpist, Christina Zirker.

    

Opening Day May 1st:
Sigi Laing and friends host the RYC's Opening Day party.  This year's theme was "Giants of the Bay." 
 
    

Big Dinghy Regatta on April 16th & 17th:
96 boats turned out for great sailing on Saturday and Sunday.  See pix taken by Bob Naber. 
    

Petaluma Yacht Club Cruise Out on April 16th & 17th:
RYCers cruised to Petaluma to enjoy the Petaluma Butter and Eggs Parade and Festival.  We docked at the municipal marina adjacent the Petaluma Yacht Club who served a wonderful Saturday night dinner.    

Big Daddy Regatta Party on Mar 12th:
What do you do after sailing all day??  You turn the clock back to 1984 and relive "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" by dancing all night.  

Sail-a-Small-Boat Day on March 5th:
All comers were welcomed to the RYC for FREE test sails in over 15 different classes of small boats. 

February Crab Feeds:
RYC volunteers serve over 200 diners during the members only Crab Feed held on February 9th and members with guests Crab Feed held on February 26th.  


 

Alameda YC Cruise Out on Feb 12th & 13th:
9 boats cruised to the Alameda Yacht Club for our annual Valentine's Day Cruise hosted by Mike and Rosemary Costello.
